Practise and improve your listening skills in Dutch
Listening is very essential for language learning. Most course books offer audio material with written text. Can you resist the temptation to listen without reading the text? Because that is the most effective way to get used to spoken Dutch. Listen to an audio, not just once, but several times, varying the way you do it. For example, start by trying to understand general meaning of the main idea. It helps to listen out for key words and to stop the audio at frequent intervals and predict what is coming next. Later you can transcript the piece of audio word by word.
